People have a tendency to wait too long to discuss end-of life wishes with their family. Often times when the conversation does happen, their loved one can no longer articulate their wants. It then falls to a family member to make those decisions. Being a medical durable power of attorney is a huge responsibility and a heavy burden when you don’t know what the person’s original desires were. We need to have these hard conversations early to make for a smoother and more beautiful end-of-life transition.<\/p>\n
